Applications
Parabolic Trough Systems
Parabolic Trough system uses a parabolic trough type condenser, which directly reflects the sun's light onto the receivers. Those receivers are in the focus of the mirrors. Then the sun power heats the heat transfer medium in the receivers, then the heat transfer medium exchanger heat with water to produce steam and thus drive the steam turbine generator to generate power. Parabolic Trough generation system is one of the four solar-thermal power generation modes; it has the highest technical maturity and the highest degree in commercial validation technologies.
For Example:
**Solana solar power plant in USA
Feature:the largest Parabolic Trough System generation Plant, and it is the first CSP plant with thermal storage system
Turbine Capacity: 280MW
Start Year:2013**Archimede solar power plant in Sicily, Italy
Feature: It is the first CSP plant to use molten salt for heat transfer and storage which is integrated with a combined-cycle gas facility.
Turbine Capacity: 5MW
Start Year: 2011
**The Andasol solar power station in Andalusia, southern Spain
Feature: It is Europe's first commercial parabolic trough solar thermal power plant
Turbine Capacity:150MW
Start Year: 2008
**SEGS solar power plant in California USA
Feature:The world's first Parabolic Trough System generation plant
Turbine Capacity:354MW (The first plant went into operation in 1984,it is consists of 8 plants
Start Year: 1984
